Most popular hair masks for Shiny and Healthy hair

 

Remember how difficult it was to style your hair when they are super dry, knotty, with lots of split ends? Every time you try to comb your hair tiny little pieces fall out (split/ dry ends) and when you touch them you feel as though they were never cared for, never used conditioner, never used a hair mask ( I know you did, shhh, it’s ok).

You tried a lot of masks with no results. Maybe it felt better, softer for a week or so, but then your hair got comfortable again, got used to it and then got worse? I am not saying that every bought hair mask is awful, but nothing beats natural products and their properties that nature gave them, right? Even so, you actually HAVE to switch your products quite often in order to avoid your hair getting too used to a product. That’s why when you buy a new shampoo, first washes are perfect, your hair are smoother, shinier, but after a month or so your hair seem the same as they started if not worse.

Shiny and healthy hair may take time to show! But do not give up just yet!

Let’s see some of the things you can use for healthier, longer hair!

1. Beer

Beer’s  basic ingredients , malt and hops , are full of protein that can strengthen hair cuticles. The cuticle is a layer of dead cells wrapped in a shingle-like fashion around the outermost part of the hair shaft. When the cuticle is damaged, these cells are raised and rough. Moreover beer makes thinner hair with no volume, bigger and with the volume you always wanted 😉

Massage your hair with beer for 1 minute

  • Beer is also very beneficial for your skin as beer sediment or brewer’s yeast helps reduce sebum production and control oily skin on your face or scalp.
  • You can also try dipping the ends of your hair with beer first, letting it set in your hair for about 5 minutes before rinsing your entire head with beer.

You can either use a spray bottle to use it, dip them in beer, or just pour it down your hair like you do with water.

2. Coconut Oil Mask 

Coconut oil is the richest natural source of medium chain fatty acids (MCFAs), special types of fatty acid with antibacterial and antimicrobial properties that are very nourishing to the body. It is especially high in the C12 chain of MCFAs known as Lauric Acid. It is rich in Nutrients and has antibacterial properties as well as yogurt (yes you can also use it for your hair). Castor oil is a beauty secret for increasing hair growth, so keep that in mind too.

Coconut oil is not for every type of hair though. Those with coarse or dry hair may not struggle with low protein at all and coconut oil may lead to more brittle hair and hair loss. These people may benefit more from other types of oil like argan oil. I do use argan oil based shampoos and oil for my hair ends and it is really good. It adds more shine to them and makes them softer.

How to use coconut oil:

Heat the Oil: Either heat the oil (solid at room temperature) between the palms of your hands, or heat the jar gently in warm water, before wetting your hair.

Massage In: Using one to four tablespoons of oil (depending on how long your hair is and remember that a little goes a long way), begin to massage the oil into your hair with your fingertips, ensuring you work it into the hair follicles by applying to the roots. To get the full benefit, massage for a good few minutes.

Cover: Now, cover your hair with a towel or a shower cap and leave Lucy Bee to work its magic! Leave overnight  before washing off for an incredible deep-conditioning treatment, or for at least twenty minutes for an intensive condition.

Et voila: Shine, shine, shine!

3. Yogurt And Olive Oil

Yogurt possesses proteins and vitamins, which will be a quick treatment for your condition.

  • You may use yogurt directly on your hair or combine it with 1 tablespoon of olive oil.
  • Then you apply this mixture over the entire scalp.

Wait for about 18 to 20 minutes and use cold water to rinse it off. This solution will help in cooling and calming your itchy and dry scalp.


4. Raw Honey & Olive Oil Mask

Olive oil is one of the most moisturizing natural products you can use. It’s moisturizing properties make it ideal for use on your hair. It will make them look healthier, stronger and shinier. Most of the masks you can make at home, have oil as an ingredient and that has much sense.

Honey attracts moisture. It’s also full of antioxidants and nutrients to feed hair follicles that house the live part of hair, encouraging hair growth.

How to use:

-1/2 cup of honey
-1/4 cup of olive oil

You can also use vinegar. Try different recipies to create the best one for you.

How to use:

-1/4 cup of organic raw honey
-10 tablespoons of apple cider vinegar

5. Lemon Juice

  • You will need a few teaspoons of lemon juice and then directly apply it on your scalp.
  • Let it stay on your scalp for about 30 minutes and rinse off thouroughly. Remember to massage your head when you apply the lemon juice on your scalp.
  • Another option for you is to mix lemon juice with a few teaspoon of olive oil and apply on your hair. This option will keep your scalp well-moisturized.
  • Use this flake-fighting treatment no more than every other week.

6. Egg And Apple Cider Vinegar

Eggs are full in proteins, whick make your hair look healthier! Use egg yolk, as much you think is needed, let it sit for 4-6 hours or if you can, all night long. Be careful to rinse very carefully and do not use hot water because it will make the egg boil. And believe me it’s not that easy to come off boiled….

You can either put them together and mix them or, as I do, keep the vinegar for the end. Rinse your hair with vinegar, it will keep your hair from smelling like eggs and clean them from top to ends. Then rinse with water like always.
